What is involved

The missions are vast and ambitious. To make them a reality, involves conceiving, designing and building large-scale sustainable initiatives.

This includes the design and build of core interventional components as well as creating appropriate mechanisms for scalable delivery & on-going capacity transfer such that they can be smoothly integrated or embedded into existing institutional systems.

Here is a glimpse into what is typically involved in building & delivering successful initiatives on the ground.

A quick glimpse of different components…

Building Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships

Most large-scale, sustainable initiatives come together by designing strategic, win-win partnerships, where concerned stakeholders (funders, institutional leaders, government agencies, large welfare bodies) come together towards making any mission a reality. Getting visionary partners on-boarded is an important first step.

Onboarding the delivery ecosystem & on-going community engagement

The success of any initiative on the ground requires deep ownership of the delivery ecosystem. This means our delivery partners (e.g. organizers, faculty) need to be inspired by the vision and completely share in the objectives of the initiative and the crucial role they play in it.

Building scalable intervention tools & products

This means design & build of a complete solution ecosystem of tools and enabler products (e.g. capacity building courses, structured learning sessions, ideal-discovery workshops, digital knowledge resources, digital knowledge tools etc.) that come together for the desired positive change outcomes to take place in a scientific, rigorous and systematic way.

Building capacity in delivery partners

To sustain an initiative on the ground, the last mile delivery is typically done by agents within the existing system (E.g. school or college teachers, community volunteers) rather than external experts. The implementation team does deep capacity transfer, so that the partners can easily leverage the tools provided & deliver on their own, on a long-term basis.

Building scalable digital platforms

In these initiatives, technology is leveraged for rapidly scaling the delivery of all the interventional components (cognitive tests & knowledge tools, learning products, enabler resources). These are essentially enabling knowledge platforms – which are architected for the core outcome of enabling users to access & engage with knowledge.

Building cognitive assessments (tests and tools)

Such positive change outcomes require people to bring about deep shifts in their own thinking & vision of self or others. Each initiative also involves building cognitive assessments that that allows the user to recognize & assess how much have they moved towards those outcomes, and also helps in improving effectiveness of the tools offered to help them do so.

Measuring impact & support for improving delivery

You could work on systematically measuring the impact of any intervention within a specific community. This involves building audit tools & executing audits (both process delivery & quality audits) & conducting impact studies. It may also involve getting regular feedback from the ground to help the delivery community measure how effectively they are running the intervention and identify points of improvement.

When you join Illumine Foundation, you will be part of the team, anchoring and stabilizing several such initiatives, to realize these missions in a systematic way.
